After 20 minutes, as expected:
Barça attacking and having chances (2 very clear, both for Messi), and Chelsea waiting for counters.

Chelsea draws one back, and now lead on aggregate.

Tsk, Tsk, Terry.
10 man Chelsea to sit and defend? Both center backs out.
Going to be interesting.
Di Matteo pulls this off, does Roman sign him up?

Bad day for football. The team that only wants to destroy will be in the final.

where was the killer pass from xavi?
where was messi's domination of the ball?
where was any shot from distance?
well deserved, chelsea. against BM/RM, they'll struggle without terry, ramires, meireles.

That's a bit harsh on Chelsea, no? They certainly deserve to be in the final after that performance; very solid defensively. Am starting to get annoyed by people who think there's only one way of playing the game. You can't ask Chelsea, with the players they have, to play like Barca - AVB tried, and failed miserably. Now that Di Matteo is having them play in a style that actually suits them, they are doing really well.

Instead of blaming Chelsea for ADAPTING and SURVIVING, which is what you are supposed to do at this stage in my opinion, I am going to say shame on Barcelona. They never wavered from their original plan, even when things stopped going their way. I read too much on "anti-football" and packing it in and how wrong that is...well if that's a strategy to win and it works against a certain team then I say use it. Three games running and Barca have 1 draw and 2 losses against a similar tactic. Yes, Barca has their own way of doing things but seriously...mix it up more often.
Well earned Chelsea (as much as it pains me to say it) and honestly I couldn't be happier for them, well won.

I'm not talking about "one way of playing football". I'm talking about wanting to win versus not wanting to lose. There are a lot of ways to play offensive, not only the "tiki-taka".

I can't see how else Chelsea could have played under those circumstances.

Given the situation, given the drama during the game, and the manner in which it played out, hardly a better script could have been written.
The only thing that comes to mind as better is the 1999 Final.
All I can say is, anyone but Bayern.
