So if you think this forum is so good, why haven't you made a contribution until you wanted the book?

Well, you're 2 posts up on every other one-post-wonder so you're doing good so far

I'm not trying to be a dick for the sake of it, but you have to understand as a newbie, not only is this a tight knit little community of coaches of all levels who give out info for free, but a lot of us also had to suffer a slew of emails asking us for a copy of the book. If you make some relevant posts to coaching topics, you'll do fine here, no worries, no fault, no foul. If you post once asking for the book and then disappear, then people like me will have something to say about it.

Looking forward to your contribution!

Eric, I have his original book, and it's like 200 pages.  How much new material is in this new book?

So thanks & good night. Heard from R.V. in Twitter a couple of weeks ago that the book is published in English, should be in stores later. "Just received great news from our management as the English version of the book 'Periodisation in Football' will be published in 2011." http://twitter.com/#!/raymondverheije

Hi there. It is good news that the English version is coming. I saw the Dutch version, and it is completely different than his previous book. It is more in the lines of those presentation that have being around (you can download a pdf from here matanuskasoccer.countmein.com/.../KNVB%20Conditioning.pdf) The book is about this, but with a lot more detail. I went to a seminar by Verheijen in Australia, and although it was great and his method is interesting, it has an air of "one size fits all" that could be discussed before taking it on board. But his general ideas and program are interesting.

For those based in the UK, he was interviewed on bbc's sport wales about his new role, Bellamy's training structure etc. Not loads there but for those that like to put a face to a name it should be available via iplayer

Hello all,
I'm a first-time user and am not asking for any free pdfs or handouts or anything. I work for a sport consulting firm that is analyzing youth athlete development, not just in soccer, but in all sports. I understand that Verheijen covers the topic of the growth spurt, or the mini jump, that occurs when an active athlete takes some time off from consistent training.
I was forwarded a power-point presentation of Verheijen`s study by Soccer Canada, and am now trying to find the actual study. Can someone please tell me if it is in either of Verheijen`s two books? I have no problem picking a copy up, I just want to make sure I'm purchasing the appropriate document.
Thank you all very much for your time.
