Does anyone know the title and/or whether there is a co-author?  I'm having trouble searching for it on amazon.com.uk.

Eric:

That's very nice of you, but not necessary.  One of my colleagues is going to London this week, so I asked her to pick up a copy of Mourinho book, as well as Brilliant Orange.

Cheers,

Maybe it was him?

" all I want the player to do, is to play how I coach him to play, and that is all I make a player to do."

guess who - right...morinuho

very aggressive coaching attitude by the way if you haven't notice. and probably not so good to U 12 or U 16 or so.

Niceness plus a bottomless supply of cash = NEARLY

Arrogance plus a bottomless supply of cash = ALMOST

Arrogance plus quality plus a bottomless supply of cash = THERE!!

The ONLY thing that pisses Mourinho is the fact that he cannot play HIMSELF in ALL the positions.THATS how arrogant he is.

ARROGANCE= When you take sole credit for what others have contributed in the success of.

ASSERTIVENESS= When you are confident in action of thought to the limits of your ability

To be fair, he didn't have bottomless cash at Porto when they won the Champions League. The players do seem to enjoy playing for him, and  it appears that he does take the heat off his players from the press. I guess we will find out more through the passage of time.

The man is practically amusing for his mouth.  But give him credit for admitting he was nothing special as a player. One of his funny ramblings last year prior to playing Barcelona in the CL.  He basically said Rijkaard was a great player who won everything, while he himself won nothing.  But as a manager he had won CL and national leagues, while Rijkaard has won nothing.

Mourinho has joined SAF as someone who brings out the sharp edges in Wenger.

I hope the season is more contested.  Great to see Wigan give them a run.  In the end class told, a super strike out of nowhere, but if you defend hard, challange everything, more than a couple of teams will give Chelski a run.  Heck, with a bit of class or composure up front Wigan would have won.  But once the Wigans of the world fall behind, heaven help them.

Do you play for damage control and just look for a close loss as too many did against United for a bit, or Arsenal for 18 months or so, and now the fear of humiliation is a factor against Chelsea.

Silly really, the challengers, except for Arsenal and United, have nothing to lose reputation wise.  Lose, and Chelsea was supposed to win.  Draw or win, and it's considered a great achievement.

Andy Gray made a good point about Liverpool in their heyday, that too many teams were so afraid of them, that they sat back and waited for the onslaught, which played right into Liverpools' hands, as they could pass the ball around with near impunity.  It was the teams like Wimbledon, who got right up in their faces, that gave them trouble.  Same for United, Arsenal, and probably Chelsea as well.

He's got the same basic speech for all the teams he has coached, "do exactly what I tell you and we will win". Great results coach, not so much as a sportsman
