I am a new coach teaching U8 boys team.
We have 3 aggressive players and the rest of the boys seem to be content just to trail behind the action - they have all played before and know what to do.
Is there a way/drill to get someone to become more aggressive? - or does it just take time?

TB--

Take this to the Coaching Forum. The first one on the forums page.  I believe this forum is for problems/questions about the forum in general, not coaching questions.

Hi Greg,
I was wondering why at the home page of the site I can't access the pages on situational tactics and drills/games?
Is it bad for everyone or just me?

Thanks For Your Help,
Eoin

I have just started coaching a U/14 girls gold team. My problem is that I do not have a goalkeeper. I know a few of the girls have played that position with previous teams in the past but none of them are interested in volunteering for the role. I am looking for suggestions as to best to handle this with the team. It is causing me a lot of stress as it is such a key position!

Can it be that not all of this website is linked correctly?

If I click here "bettersoccermorefun" under forum partners, I get nothing useful.
There is also an error on the front page clicking "coaches shop".

Maybe we all should check these pages to help the owner?

When I first came here, I got the first impression that it was an abandoned side and forum ..... but thank God ... it is more than alive.

Hi, Greg.

Can you check the chat bar if everything is going right?

It looks like that some of the posters have problems to sign in or chatting.

Thanks

Tried but failed (several times) to upload a picture -jpg.  What's the size limit?

Any other hints?

Hello All, I am now coaching my sons U9 travel team and it's a new team playing in the lowest div(D6). My question is this, FORMATION? Let me say this I am a very experienced  player and above average  coach so be HONEST! I have been reading post about player skills and protecting the middle and most clubs play either a 4-3 or 3-3-1 or 2-2-2-1. My team will have its 1st scrimmage hopefully next week so I can see how they actually play after all the training. I want to play a 2 middle back ,2 pushed up outside back, stopper, 2 striker system. So a 2-2-1-2

                                          x              x
                                                  x
                                     x                         x
                                                x   x
I know the players must fit the system.  My 2 center backs are legit 8 and 9yrs old strong, fast and can control the ball so I would push them to the 50. My Stopper can run free and control the middle 5'8 crafty 8yr old. My 2 outside backs are young, 6 and 7, my son 6 is a very small crafty skillful fast and can serve the ball in the box or score with either feet and will get back on D understands the game. the other is pretty much the same but only has a right, shoots much harder not as skilled but much stronger then my son. My 2 strikers 1 is a brazilian(need I say more) and the other liberian. Both very skilled and crafty strong and always push to score. I'm nervous to see how it plays out as this is the 1st travel team for these kids. I have no legit Keeper right now but I feel my defense will hold to task. My subs are suspect with exceptions of 2 so most of the team will have to play multiple positions. should I teach the 2-3-2 as I heard you can hide weaker players on the outside. Thanks in advance
